Power Coaching®
Power Coaching® is an assertive, cognitive stretch and recovery approach to helping high potential, first-time leaders and seasoned executives achieve success in the ultra-competitive new normal business environment. A unique, disruptive factor of Power Coaching is that all coaches must have an expertise in the area in which they are coaching. This allows the coach to take a more proactive approach in the coaching relationship. The goal of Power Coaching is to help guide the coachee to reach their goals in the shortest amount of time.
Based on the concept of auto-telic competition and the cognitive foundation of motives drive thoughts, thoughts drive behaviors and behaviors drives results, Power Coaching helps clients develop new ways of thinking about achieving their goals. By exploring their motives, values, and cognitive biases, the Power Coach can better help the coachee align their goals with their job requirements and the organization's vision of success.
The Power Coaching engagement is unique, in that it is a 9 month process, compared to the usual 6 months. The 9 months are divided up into three possible types of coaching, based on the agreement and progress being made. The first 6 months are usually traditional offline coaching. Based on mutual consent, the second 2 months are observational coaching. The last 3 months, if agreed upon, become live action coaching. The Power Coaching model is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
